• What is spinal decompression?

It is a non-surgical procedure. Decompression is believed to relieve pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves. The task of relieving pain is thought to come about as a result of drawing areas of bulging and herniated disc material back into place. The theory of how decompression accomplishes this is by creating negative pressure within the disc, referred to as negative intra-discal pressure. The spinal decompression tables we use in our office are all FDA cleared.

  • What types of conditions does decompression therapy help treat?

Disc problems of multiple varieties such as herniated discs, ruptured or protruding discs, sciatica, bulging discs, degeneration, spondylolisthesis, facet syndrome, joint arthrosis, and more.

  • How many visits will it take?

Because everyone is different, there are many factors that go into the healing process. Therefore, we take our patients through the 3 Phases of Healing which are: Relief Phase, Regeneration Phase and the Remodeling Phase. Our goal is to get our patients through these phases as quickly as possible, carefully monitoring each phase.

  • Do you offer more than just decompression therapy?

Yes, our office is unique because we offer a variety of different treatment methods. Along with the decompression therapy we offer a core strengthening program, massage therapy, state of the art equipment, H-Wave therapy for muscle relaxation and much more. Dr. Lee designs a program specific to each patient according to their needs.

  • Is spinal decompression the same thing as traction?

It’s like apples and oranges, they are two completely different things.

  • What is the cost?

It all depends on your condition, some treatment plans are more than others. This is one of the aspects the doctor will cover in your no cost consultation.

  • How long does each visit last?

Plan on approximately an hour and a half each day.

  • After I go through treatment will I need to come back?

Our approach is to go bring you long lasting relief so you do not have to return. In some severe cases, we may recommend periodic follow up maintenance.

  • What are my chances for success?

Very high actually, we only accept patients we truly feel we can help.

  • Does insurance cover the cost?

Different types of insurance cover different costs associated with the therapy. We are happy to verify your benefits when you come into our office and give you an idea of what you will need to pay out of pocket before any services are performed.

  • If I have already had surgery in the past, can I still be treated?

Yes, in most cases, as long as implants haven’t been used.
